Miss MSU
Pageants
Miss Mississippi State University – The Center for Student Activities serves as the sponsor for the Miss MSU Scholarship pageant, which is a preliminary to the Miss Mississippi and Miss America Pageants. The Miss MSU competition began in 1959 and we are proud to have had 8 Miss MSU’s go on to win the title of Miss Mississippi, with 1 going on to win the title of Miss America.
Our competition is typically hosted in early fall and is a year-long commitment for one young woman who wins the title after competing in the areas of private interview, HERstory/Talent, fitness, on-stage interview, and evening gown. Miss MSU serves as a representative and ambassador for the university as she does speaking engagements, appearances, and performances on campus and in the community; all while preparing to compete in the Miss Mississippi competition.
The Miss America Organization seeks to prepare and empower women to be local and global leaders. Participants acquire life-long skills, meet other like-minded women, cultivate their own personal style, and engage within their communities. The four points of the Miss America crown (or the pillars that the organization is founded on) are Scholarship, Style, Service, and Success!
If you are interested in learning more or competing in our Miss MSU program and how we prepare young women for success, please reach out! We would love for you to join our sisterhood.
All requests for appearances by Miss MSU should be directed to Taylor Roberson at tp1007@msstate.edu
